Name: Aidan K. Wiggins I'd be happy to help in any capacity. Power Requirements: food and water (sarcasm, but I would also take food and water if present)
I have what is likely the only preserved server out of Freenode's early bare metal fleet with a researched and documented history if its service. I can possibly run an IRC server on it live, if so power requirements would be 3 plugs (1 will do if I can bring a power strip), max draw at 120v will be less than 400w, so I can also run a small EdgeRouter to tunnel the IRC to a public facing address) as it's fairly light, otherwise no power required as a static display. Ethernet would be required in a running configuration see: https://alyx.sh/posts/artifact-zelazny/ A second table would be ideal, as I also have a several prototype, concept and unreleased things from Hewlett Packard.
Hi, I'm Shaun of the "Cursed Silicon" YouTube channel I've got a couple machines I'd be happy to exhibit, depending on interest. - I own and operate the "worlds fastest" Win98 PC as seen on YouTube. It contains a ton of 1990's and early 2000's games that are a lot of fun to play with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YETxI4rA_gs I've got a bunch of PowerPC era Power Macs (two G4 MDD's, a G5 Dual Processor and an Xserve G4 and *possibly* a working G5 Quad depending) I'd love to demo playing games or something together (StarCraft anyone?) --- Power/Table/Chair requirements --- - One chair - Table or two (these machines are quite large!) - Standard 120V power strip or extension cord (can bring own cords power strip) If internet (wired or wireless) is an option I can also bring a switch and get them rigged up to the web with some tricks
My name is John Ball. I'm a Canada-based computer collector who has for a number of years been collecting and working with computers from the British company Apricot Computers, or ACT for short. While for the most part only being MS-DOS compatible machines they were a departure from typical 80's computers in their designs were not matched by anyone for their sharp edges, contrasts and design language. I will be looking to display three or four machines form their timeline through the mid-80's: the Apricot PC XI, the Apricot F1, the Apricot Portable and the Apricot Xen-i.
Hello, I'm Stephen Jones and I will be exhibiting a remote systems of SDF.ORG The exhibit will make use of two AT&T 605 terminals which were part of an older 3B2/500 incarnation of the SDF Public Access UNIX System. Power usage should be 1 to 2 amps
Your name and organization/club (if relevant) A description of your exhibit, demo and/or how I'd like to help. (Please provide table, chair and power requirements)
Dennis Kibbe, Mesa Community College, Mesa, Arizona. I made my airline reservations today. Arriving Friday and leaving on Monday. Just need to find a place to stay.
I'm Josh Dersch and I'd like to demonstrate an SGI IRIS 2400T Workstation. 15A power would be lovely to have to cover everything.
My name is Gene Buckle and I'd like to show how I image 3.5", 5.25", and 8" diskettes using an AppleSauce disk imaging tool. I've also got a bound book scanner that I'd like to display. A six foot long table would be adequate, but an 8 foot table would be better. :) I'd only need a single chair and a power strip for feeding the computer & various power supplies needed for the setup.
Hello! I`m Nicholas, an individual collector in West Seattle. I'm located near the event and I would love to share some of my Japanese 8-bits if there is room for me! I have a few MSX systems and some fun ideas for an exhibit (games, demos, music, graphics tablet/printer, photo digitization with an old security camera). I would probably not require more than one or two tables with a couple of seats for using the machines and no special power requirements. I keep a small list of my MSX stuff specifically at the link below and it's what I'd be able to bring to the event. https://tangent.space/msx-collection.htm
My Name is Jason Howe. I'm bringing an Alpha Syntauri Synthesizer. A software synth which uses an Apple II as a host system. 8-note polyphony, waveform creation and a 16-track sequence...in 1982! Also can demonstrate the recently recovered Composer's Assistant package, which will analyze your recording and print out a score!
I'm Jason Perkins, and I'd like to demo Xerox Viewpoint - the follow up to the Star GUI. I'll have both a Xerox 6085 Daybreak, and a PC running GlobalViewWin with the software. I'll also demo using the Dodo emulator on a modern PC to provide network services to the Xerox systems.
I'm J.P. McGlinn and I like old Unix systems from Silicon Graphics and Sun Microsystems. I help organize the Seattle Retro-computing Society meetings in Kirkland. Visit https://www.seattleretrocomputing.com for details about this local group with meetings on the 4th Saturday monthly. I would like to bring either a couple Sun workstations or one or two SGI systems. I need between 4 and 6 feet of table, a chair, and between 4-8 amps at 120v, either NEMA 5-15R or L5-20R. I can bring my own power distribution and extension cords if outlets are far away as long as I know ahead of time.
Your name and organization/club (if relevant) Mark D. Overholser ( no club ) A description of your exhibit, demo and/or how I'd like to help. Tandy Color Computer, Apple ][ and Commodore C64/SX-64 networking and Network Games (Please provide table, chair and power requirements) A Table or Two, two chairs and 20 Amps 120VAC preferred. I see WiFi is available at the site, an Ethernet Drop would be a little easer for me..
I would love to volunteer in memory of Unixmito, who is no longer with us and would have loved to go. I can't currently carry anything large due to surgery but would love to help with setup/tear down and other kinds of support if needed, especially (and including) moral support and making sure everyone is fed and hydrated :) - Mold / Vivituringenio / Maxwell Turpin
Michael Brutman At a minimum I can volunteer to help things run smoothly. I can also be talked into a doing a talk on the horrible lessons learned while writing networking software for DOS. And if you are really desperate, I have a stash of PCjrs that can do silly things.
Rob Carnegie Chilliwack Retro-Computing Club Chilliwack BC Canada I would like to bring a non-commercial exhibit of vintage and retro systems built or collected by members of the Chilliwack Retro-Computing Club. This would include one of my mini hand build (ie not a kit) replicas of historic mainframes. I would like a table, 2 chair and%85 electricity.
I'd like to help in any I can! I have a 9 month old daughter that I'd love to the place to but would love to help in anyway! Thank you!
Seattle Retro-Computing Society %96 1/2 of a table 1 chair to advertise our existence, basically
Tarek Hoteit I live in Vancouver, WA and I plan to drive up to the exhibition. I would like to volunteer in any way (arms, legs, brains, whatever)
Hi, I'm tr1nitr0n, a certified UNIX-HATER. I would like to exhibit some lisp machines, probably. If not that, then some big old nasty workstations of some kind. They might even run UNIX. :( It would be great to get my own 15 amps, and an ethernet drop. I will have a better idea of what I'm doing closer to the event.
