Chilliwack Retrocomputing Club - A display of vintage and retro-computers that would be typically present at one of our regular meetings. Will include at least one hand made replica of a vintage style computer, featuring a mixture of new and vintage parts.

Hello, I run FurryTel, a fun art project that we would love to bring to VCF. I am interested in bringing a few teletypes (a 5410 Glass TTY, Model 15 KSR and/or a Model 28) and phones (Trimline, Weco 500, etc) to demonstrate at the festival (pictures from our VancouFur table are below). We have some equipment that is "portable" that would be easy enough to bring to a local event such as this. Depending on the space available we can do a very compact display, or something that fills a full table with neat things for people to interact with classic technology. My name is John and I'd like to show you how to easily build a Digital computer. In 1964 the Digital Equipment Corporation (often known as "DEC") introduced a new style of modularized circuit design to their future generation of computers. Dubbed the "Flip Chip", the single, double, quad or hex-width cards provided a scalable hardware platform to rapidly assemble circuits and entire computers using components sharing small and easily replaceable cards. A design so brilliant that Dec would continue to use it for decades to come.

Name: Bradley Bell Exhibit: I'll bring my Quadra 700, joined into GlobalTalk, the worldwide network of retro appletalk-using devices. I'll have a Mac SE networked to it via PhoneNet, and I'll bring some extra phoneNet connectors if anyone has another mac they'd like to connect. I'll also bring my floppy imaging tools and a big pile of disks to archive. If anyone has an overhead projector to lend, we can employ my SE's old-school digital projection system. Requirements: 1 table, a couple of outlets, ethernet, a static IP would make setup easier, if that's possible.

Clay Erickson, SDF, SRCS This spring, I will only be available for Saturday for family reasons. I'm not sure yet what I will be bringing yet, but it will either be for Saturday, or I might be able to have a fellow SRCS member manage the exhibit. I will also bring my usual tools in case someone needs a tool for any onsite repair. Hopefully I will be able to attend the entire event in the fall. :-) I will either bring my Kaypro 4 or my Commodore 128 with 1571 drive (and/or 1581 if I get it working by then). Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the PDP-8 I will also have a PDP-8/m and a DECmate III on display. Power requirements are 2A or less and an ethernet drop would be great. I'd like to exhibit: - Custom x86 systems, running DOS/Win98SE/Win2K, with demos and 2D/3D games for anyone to play. - Souped-up PCI 486 tower - Souped-up Super Socket 7 tower - Original Athlon (Slot A) tower 2) Nintendo Famicom/NES stuff: a Japanese "AV Famicom", a couple international Famiclones incl. one w/ 3.5" floppy and a DOS, official and pirate cartridges, official Family BASIC and unofficial BASIC, 3) Bringing my Quadra 700 to try and join the Globaltalk network. It's got onboard and NuBus 10Mbps Ethernet, SD card w/ System 7.1, 7.6.1, 8.1, A/UX and lots of general software. Requirements: 1 table (or 2 if small), ~2 chairs, 5A 120VAC max., a power strip would be great. Can also help out as needed when I'm there. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

(Please provide table, chair and power requirements) Errant/Danielle Jackson I've got two machines to show off 1) my modified atari 800xl with rapidus, ultimate 1mb, fujinet, side3, and VBXE upgrades. I'll have it running the contiki browser, games and demos 2) A sun ultra 2 workstation, decked out with 2x350mhz processors and 2gb of ram running Solaris and the CDE environment. I have a Creator3D card for it so I'll be trying to run some 3d demos. If space is at a premium I can try to get it all in a half a table (I was presenting the atari last year so I have an idea the table size). I'll need two outlets for the sun and one for the atari and one chair.

Hayden Neumeyer I will be bringing a selection of computerized test equipment from the early 90s to about 2001. Included will be: -HP 16600A Logic Analyzer -HP 54825A Oscilloscope -HP 4957A Serial Communications Analyzer -Tektronix TLA715 Logic Analyzer -W̶i̶n̶d̶o̶w̶s̶ ̶2̶0̶0̶0̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶p̶u̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶r̶u̶n̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶u̶t̶o̶m̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶o̶l̶l̶e̶r̶ Broken right now -Some sort of demo circuits -Probably some more stuff A standard folding table should be able to support everything and everything can stack into about a 24" wide column if needed. Power should not be too much but probably 700W or so if i have to guess. One chair is all that is needed.

Jason Perkins I will give a talk / presentation about working on CRTs safely. I'll go over some theory, basic problems, and how to stay safe. I'll also do a demo of swapping a CRT in a small monitor.

If possible provide your own 10-20 foot network cables. Let me know how many ports and if any need to be set for specific speeds (10half for those pesky old Asante NICs perhaps). If you want your own VLAN (with DHCP and static IP space) let me know (IP routing to the other VLANs and internet will be available). Otherwise the general access exhibitor network may be DHCP only. I am hoping to provide wireless networking on the exhibitor network(2.4 and 5 GHz separate for those dev board wireless connections on peripheral emulation devices). Also separate guest access. Find me for exhibitor network password. I will share a table with my vintage computer exhibit but need some space for switches around the room.

J.P., SRCS, SDF ICM/ICF Something like my 6100/66 DOS Compatibility (it's in the intake queue) if I can get it going in time, or Sun with SunPCi running Windows on an embedded PC in a non-windows computer/workstation. If those are working in time I'll bring a Sun or SGI workstation. Need a full table to share with the networking..or a little more space if I end up with multiple machines.

Project IVY I will be exhibiting some of my favorite ThinkPads along with a few other rare and interesting machines. At most I should need 1 table and 10 amps at 120 volts.

Hi. My name is Keith Sink. I'm part of the Seattle Retro Computing Society. I'm prepared to do a presentation on Clippy( the paper clip dude) and how he worked in Office 95. I was part of the team that taught him to answer questions. I have insights on how he worked, the journey of teaching him to answer questions, and his impact on AI and popular culture. I can present with a laptop, so all I need is power and perhaps a projector if you have one. Also a table and chair. I'm available on Saturday March, 22nd.

Exhibit: DOS Networking with mTCP Description: Besides demonstrating mTCP, I'll also bring driver diskettes and spare networking gear to help other people debug or get started with their networking setups. Requirements: I'd like a full table, two chairs, and be somewhat close to the Ethernet router for obvious reasons. Along with an iMac G3 running OS 9 and some other vintage machines I'd also like to demo a prototype of my "retro computer internet service" known as Compu-Global-Hyper-Mega-Net (CGHMN) http://cghmn.cursedsilicon.net I'll need a whole table and power. I'll bring a power strip and network cables and a switch as needed :)

Troy Staley / SRCS I will pit a PCjr, Commodore 64 and NES against each other. Participants can vote on the better platform for each game title. Need: Table Power

Gordon Steemson, admin for the Seattle Retro-Computing Society I am not sure yet what I will actually exhibit; but I would like to reserve the smallest available allocation unit of space for the usual "We exist!" display regarding the S.R-C.S., to tell people about our meetings and what we do at them.

Ian Romanick (aka Tales of Weird Stuff on YT) / PDX Retro Forest (local club) I would like to exhibit two different things. 1. I have two Apple Network Server 700 systems. I would like to show one of them running AIX, and I would like to show the other disassembled. 2. I would also like to exhibit a Mindscape Music Board. This is a very rare (only 4 are known to exist) PC sound card that came out just before the original Adlib. This card is similar to the Mockingboard for Apple II computers, but it has some odd quirks. The sound card will not require a lot of space. I would intend to demo it using a motherboard installed in test bench computer case and a very small monitor.. and speakers. The Apple Network Servers are large, heavy, and power hungry. The running system would likely need to sit on the floor. It would need table space for monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Ideally, I would like to use an era-appropriate Apple CRT, but that may not be practical. The disassembled system could expand to fill all available space. Having been to a couple previous events, I feel pretty confident that one whole table in one of the outer corner locations would work great.

Troy Deck - Saturday only I'm bringing a Mountbatten Braille Writer, which is an electronic braille typewriter / word processor combination device. This particular model is from the early 2000s, but it's virtually unchanged from their 1990s model. Braille technology is like a parallel world so I think folks will find it interesting. I'm open to demoing the device in a talk as well. I also plan to bring my SX-64 (assuming my keyboard membrane replacement goes well), or something else to substitute if that doesn't work. One table should be fine. I'll need an outlet but can bring my own power strip. The Mountbatten is a bit wide, I'd prefer one full table but can make a half table work if necessary. 2-3 chairs would be good so folks can sit and interact with the machines.
