To: insipidkitten Hi there, Something tells me that you're probably getting about 50 emails a day from guys saying things like "Hi, I'm 43, freshly divorced from my seventh wife, have 13 delinquent kids... but the good news is that I have a chance at getting a job and finally moving out of Mom's house... etc." Well, maybe that's a bit extreme. but I am finding one has to go into online dating with a good sense of humor. I'm a pretty busy person and don't have the patience for the bar scene, so I decided to try this service for one month. Hopefully I'll meet some normal people, but if nothing else, I now have some good stories to tell my grandkids. :) Anyhow, you actually DO sound like a genuine and fun person who shares many of the same interests and values as me, so I thought that I would send an e-mail to quickly introduce myself. One thing that caught my attention in your profile was your work with pro-environmental causes. Not to get geeky on you during a first email, but my long term goals in life is to develop an invention of mine that detects gas leaks at chemical plants preventing a certain type of deadly industrial pollution. So, I'd like to hear more about what you do. Please take a look at my profile (there will be a quiz on Monday) and if you think I might make a fun and interesting new friend, I would certainly enjoy hearing back from you. My best, -John user@email.com (if you don't subscribe to the internet dating service) |
