19 jan 07 How was your Christmas? Did you have a fun New Year? it was good. i don't really remember it that well. i guess it was unremarkable. visited family, friends came into town. ate lots of food. typical usa-style winter shindigz. i haven't been to a christmas church service in years. even the unitarian church services i attended at my aunt's ordination were close to unbearable. content is irrelevant -- i could be singing songs about how macaroni-and-cheese is great, and then hear a sermon on the same topic, and it would be just as bad as hearing about transubstantiation. i have to go to work in about a half hour, and i have to go to school after the weekend. once it starts, i'm thinking of either dropping a class or dropping work, because as it is i don't have any full days off, which will eat at my soul, as i know from experience. maybe i'll try and keep it up as long as i can, and only then stop working. i go back and forth with work: sometimes i hate it, sometimes i don't mind it, and sometimes i even sort of like it. but i think, all in all, that i'd rather be free than moneyed. jesus, i just got like three more submissions in the mail. what's going on here? why the sudden flood? i feel like this project is young again. i'd better get my rear in gear, except that it's 1am, i just got off work, i am covered with pizza slime, and my throat is infected with some bacteria with a funny name i don't remember. the doctor told me that "in 36 hours" was when i'd start to feel some relief via the antibiotics i was prescribed and of which i have had thus far one dose. now, two. this has got to be the nastiest sore throat i've ever had. it feels like my throat is rotting from the inside out, which i suppose it basically is. let's hope the medicine kicks in quickly. god damn i've been sick lately! and this is related to the question too, because i had just barely gotten over a gastric infection that caused explosive vomiting and diarrhea when i went to visit my aunt in a sort of post-christmas christmas (and ordination), and then when i was there i came down with a particularly gruesome chest cold, which i'm just now getting over. and then, this throat thing. and then, there was the lyme disease of a few months ago. i don't know what to think about all of these pathogens. maybe i have AIDS. another down -- three more to go. slowly, the pile diminishes. |
